MANILA -- While she did not win the Philippines' fifth Miss Earth crown in the 25th edition of the pageant, Joy Barcoma remains proud of how she embodied the values of her nation throughout the contest.
"Talaga namang tinayo natin ang bandila ng Pinas sa Miss Earth 2025. Masaya ako na nakapagdala ako ng karangalan sa Pilipinas," said Barcoma, who finished as one of four runners-up, after the coronation night on Wednesday in Parañaque City.
Natalie Puskinova of Czech Republic won the top crown in the Miss Earth 2025 competition after besting some 80 candidates.

Barcoma, whose journey ended in the Top 8, thanked her supporters for their unwavering encouragement that kept her motivated.
"Maraming salamat, Pilipinas, for supporting me and showering me with love," she said.
The beauty queen is also grateful for the doors that Miss Earth has opened for her, and plans to return to the grind after taking some time to rest.
"Ang plano ko after this ay kumain, magpahinga, at bumalik sa trabaho," she said. "I’m grateful for the opportunities Miss Earth has given me. I was joined by incredible and beautiful women from across the globe."
Joining Puskinova are her fellow "elemental queens": Miss Earth Air 2025 Soldis Ivarsdottir (Iceland), Miss Earth Water 2025 Mu Anh Trinh (Vietnam), and Miss Earth Fire 2025 Waree Ngamkham (Thailand).
Barcoma was aiming to join Karen Ibasco (2017), Angelia Ong (2015), Jamie Herrell (2014), and Karla Henry (2008) as the Philippines' Miss Earth winners.
