The Miss Universe Organization (MUO) said it stands in solidarity with the people of the Philippines and Vietnam as the two countries deal with the devastation caused by recent typhoons.
A video posted on its social media pages on Tuesday, November 11, shows reigning queen Victoria Theilvig extending sympathies to those who have been affected by the recent natural calamities, particularly typhoon Kalmaegi (local name Tino).
"Our thoughts are with all the families affected by this tragedy. And we stand with those facing loss and hardship in the aftermath," she said.
The beauty queen from Denmark also lauded the dedication of local authorities and organizations providing rescue, aid, and relief.
"In times like these, we are reminded of strength and compassion that unite us all," she said.
"The Miss Universe Organization stands in solidarity with the people of the Philippines and Vietnam, wishing for healing and swift recovery."
MUO is the latest pageant organization to show its support for the Philippines amid the onslaught of typhoons in the country, after Miss Grand International and Miss Earth.
It was recently embroiled in controversy, which stemmed from a heated exchange between a candidate and a Thai executive.
Things have simmered down since, with the 74th Miss Universe coronation night pushing through as scheduled on November 21.
