Handout

Boracay is known for its lively beachfront, packed restaurants and long list of things to do. But on Station 3, away from some of the island’s busiest stretches, the experience can be considerably slower.

That is the setting of Mandarin White Sand, a 46-room beachfront retreat that offers a quieter base for travelers looking to spend more time by the sea and less time following an itinerary.

The property sits directly along the beach, where mornings can begin with a walk along the shore and afternoons can be spent simply watching the water. For longer stays, that slower pace leaves room for the unplanned — a late breakfast, an extra hour by the beach or an evening with nowhere else to be.

Room options range from Deluxe King and Twin accommodations to rooms suited for families and small groups. The Sky, Sea, Sun and Sand Suites offer about 43.5 square meters of space, with a king bedroom, a sea-view outdoor lounge and a private dipping pool.

The rooms are designed as more than a place to sleep after a day outdoors, with spaces where guests can linger and take a break from the beach.

Dining is another part of the experience. At 8 by the Beach, Filipino favorites are served during lunch and dinner buffets, while Boodle Boards come in combinations such as All Meat Eight, Seafood Eight and The Ultimate Eight, designed for sharing.

Evenings at the property include Twilight Dance and live acoustic performances. With cocktails, conversation and the beach nearby, the entertainment provides a more relaxed alternative to the busier nightlife found elsewhere on the island.

For international visitors, the hotel offers an airport transfer service to help with the trip to and from the island. Its concierge can also assist with activities and other arrangements during the stay.

But the main draw is the location and the opportunity to experience a less hurried side of Boracay.

Handout

The island is often associated with sunset photos, water activities and crowded beachfronts. Yet some of its more memorable moments can be simpler: walking barefoot along the shore in the morning, watching the sky change at dusk or listening to the waves after the crowds have started to thin.

At Mandarin White Sand, those quieter moments become part of the stay — a reminder that in Boracay, sometimes the best plan is having no plan at all.
