Feeling composed in her captivating floral green dress, singer-actress Geneva Cruz stood comfortably on the stage of “Kapamilya, Deal Or No Deal” after the Lucky Wheel landed on her assigned briefcase, number 17, selecting her as the celebrity player for the game show’s September 5 episode.
Aside from showcasing her girly fashion, Geneva eagerly shared the adventurous side of her personality in her introductory video. She revealed that she underwent professional training to become a Philippine Air Force Command Sergeant. Dedicated to setting a good example for her children, Geneva proudly told host Luis Manzano that she returned to school after many years and finally earned her college degree this year.
In line with her advocacy for wellness, fitness, and longevity, the Lucky Star shared her desire to launch a beauty product she had been developing if she happened to take home the game show’s coveted ₱1 million jackpot. Keeping this goal in mind, Geneva trusted her intuition and decided to stick with her original briefcase, number 17.
Surprising everyone with her appearance, BINI Gwen dropped by the studio. Joining in on the fun, the Pambansang Host posed a question to Gwen about a heartbreak she experienced in the past. She recalled a falling-out between her and her high school friends that began when she chose to pursue her dream of becoming part of a Filipino idol group.

Entering the opening round with zero expectations, Geneva was shocked when her first briefcase revealed ₱125,000. She thought her luck had improved after eliminating ₱400 from the money board, but she soon faced two six-digit amounts back-to-back as she let go of ₱150,000 and ₱250,000. Despite the early setback, she ended the round on a high note by opening a briefcase containing ₱5.
When the second round rolled around, Geneva knew she had to recover in order to force the Banker to give her higher offers. Starting off with ₱25 and ₱1,000, the celebrity contestant introduced her daughter, London, and asked for her help in choosing the next briefcase. Following her daughter’s suggestion, Geneva gladly said goodbye to the ₱200 cash amount on the money board. The singer-actress later sought guidance from BINI Gwen before opening a briefcase containing ₱10,000.

From ₱50,000 to ₱100,000, the higher amounts on the money board continued to dwindle throughout the game as Geneva got rid of ₱1 during the sixth round. After rejecting the Banker’s ₱368,000 offer, Geneva immediately realized her mistake when she uncovered ₱500,000 during the final round, leaving only the ₱50 and ₱1 million prizes up for grabs.
Facing the Banker’s final offer of ₱333,000, Geneva let destiny decide her fate as she boldly turned down the enticing deal. She was left stunned when the ₱50 amount appeared inside her chosen briefcase, while the ₱1 million prize was once again hiding inside Migs Bustos’ briefcase.
Despite the loss, Geneva kept smiling as she happily thanked the show for the experience. “Nakakatuwa kasi masaya. Grateful pa rin ako. Thank you very much for, of course, allowing me to play.”
