Much like a fiesta celebration, the studio of “Kapamilya, Deal or No Deal” erupted in cheers as Lucky Star Pepay Aguilar competed as a celebrity player during the game show’s August 16 episode after the Lucky Wheel landed on his assigned briefcase, number 16.
In an entertaining introduction video, Pepay recalled how he went from selling shoes at a mall to securing gigs at Vice Comedy Club. He also earned money on the side as a beauty pageant judge. The stand up comedian shared that his endearing personality helped him achieve the success he enjoys today, allowing him to build the house he had long dreamed of.
Reflecting on what he would do if he took home the coveted ₱1 million jackpot, Pepay said he planned to donate a portion of the cash prize to support people who had been abandoned by their families. He would use the rest to fund a trip to the Maldives with fellow veteran comedian Negi.
Looking back on his childhood, Pepay shared that he and his brother, who is also gay, experienced challenges growing up. He lightheartedly recalled how the two of them eventually learned to stand up for themselves as they grew older.

Eyeing his favorite number, Pepay gave up his original briefcase and swapped it for actor-host Emilio Daez’s briefcase, number 3.
The celebrity player’s opening round seemed to promise a strong start after he eliminated the ₱10, ₱400, and ₱5,000 cash amounts from the money board. However, Pepay soon faced his first six-digit setback when he opened sportscaster Migs Bustos’ briefcase, which contained ₱500,000.
Entering the second round with renewed hopes, he was left speechless after finding the elusive ₱1 million jackpot inside Showtime Online U host Jannah Alanise’s briefcase number 6. The briefcases that followed brought better news for Pepay, particularly singer-host Lorraine Galvez’s briefcase number 15, which contained just ₱1.
Before proceeding to the third round, Pambansang Host Luis Manzano asked Pepay to share more about his biological son to the Kapamilya viewers. His 20-year-old son, Kenji, grew up to be a respectful young man who wholeheartedly embraces and supports his father.

Talking about Kenji inspired Pepay to continue playing, as he went on an impressive streak during the third round after eliminating the ₱100, ₱300, and ₱500 cash prizes from the money board. The Banker’s offers gradually decreased as Pepay opened briefcases containing six-digit amounts one after another, starting with the ₱250,000 in Kim Rodriguez’s briefcase and followed by the ₱125,000 in Marco Navarra’s briefcase.
By the eighth and final round, only the ₱5 and ₱150,000 amounts remained on the money board after Pepay discovered the ₱25 hidden in briefcase number 1. This gave the Banker an opportunity to tempt him with a ₱55,500 offer. However, determined to enjoy the game regardless of the outcome, Pepay confidently declined the Banker’s final offer.
Pepay’s decision to trust his chosen briefcase paid off, as it contained the ₱150,000 prize he ultimately took home. Still surprised by his win, Pepay expressed his gratitude, saying, “Sobrang nag-enjoy ako. Hindi ko iniisip na contestant ako, gusto ko lang maghatid ng saya. Sobrang sarap sa pakiramdam.”
