Following their scorching quarrel with Betchay (Irma Adlawan), Gabo (Coco Martin) initiated a profound and heartfelt conversation with his father, Rudy (Joey Marquez). He began by telling Rudy that they should never have allowed Betchay to work at the beerhouse owned by their sworn enemies, Paquito (Rez Cortez) and Django (Jhong Hilario), because her life would inevitably be put in danger. Gabo feared that the notorious father-and-son duo might use her as a means to exact revenge on their family.
Rudy explained that they had tried to stop Betchay, but she had already made up her mind. Overcome with guilt, he couldn't help but blame himself as he believes that she would never have resorted to working there if he hadn't been hospitalized. Gabo, in turn, expressed how painful it is for him to see his father carrying such a burden and impending humiliation that this may bring to their family, especially to Rudy.
Determined to ease their struggles, Gabo vowed that he would strive to find a job, so that Betchay would no longer need to work at the beerhouse anymore. Rudy went on to open up about how deeply embarrassed he is that it had been Betchay who had shouldered the responsibility of providing for their family ever since they started to live together. Although he had never made any promises to her and had always regarded her as nothing more than a friend, he remained deeply grateful for her unwavering and selfless devotion to him and Gabo.
The father and son recalled how Betchay had stood by them ever since they moved to Ginintuang Lupa after their family was struck by tragedy. They lost everything when his former business
partners Ricardo (Rafael Rosell) and Mariano (Efren Reyes Jr) not only seized their wealth but also killed their beloved matriarch, Belinda (Cristine Reyes).
Throughout those dark times, Betchay never abandoned them and untiringly supported them until they were able to get back on their feet. Aside from taking care of Gabo, she also helped Rudy fulfill his dream of opening an auto repair shop by financing the business and even helping him find the perfect location.
Despite knowing that Rudy would never move on from Belinda—and that she could never replace the woman who would always hold a special place in his heart and life—Betchay continued to love him unconditionally. Although Rudy's painful honesty broke her heart and always reduced her to tears, she never stopped doing everything she could to earn his love and affection.
Gabo told Rudy that, even at a very young age, he had already understood the sacrifices Betchay had made for their family. He knew she had worked tirelessly to support them while they struggled to rebuild their lives, and, at the same time, how Rudy carried the deep pain of losing Belinda far too soon.
