While spending time with the family of Diday (Diana Opilac), Kulas (Ahl Opilac), and Estong (Ahldrin Opilac), who invited him and his friends to join them for drinks and snacks, Gabo (Coco Martin) suddenly heard his parents, Rudy (Joey Marquez) and Betchay (Irma Adlawan), arguing inside their house.
The quarrel sparked when Rudy confronted Betchay after catching her dressed up late at night. Their confrontation quickly turned into a heated exchange when Betchay revealed that she had started working at the beerhouse owned by Paquito (Rez Cortez), the father of Gabo’s longtime enemy, Django (Jhong Hilario).
Rudy’s sister Mameng (Ces Quesada) and her husband Dante (Julio Diaz) eventually stepped in and also questioned Betchay’s decision to work at the beerhouse, saying that she could have tried applying for other jobs. Betchay, however, insisted that she did not care if people would gossip about her or their family because what mattered most to her was earning money—something Rudy’s auto repair shop had been struggling to provide.
Gabo then entered the house and asked his family what the commotion was about. He warned Betchay that her decision could put her in danger because Paquito and Django could not be trusted and might use her to get back at him. However, Betchay defended Paquito, saying that he was actually easy to talk to, and insisted that she had nothing to do with the long-standing feud between Gabo and the notorious father-and-son duo.
As Betchay expressed her frustration over being judged for trying to find a way to earn money and support their family’s daily needs, Mameng explained that they were not against her desire to work—they were just concerned with the way she chose to do it. Mameng reminded her to value her body and protect her dignity, but Betchay felt that those things no longer matter to her. All she wanted now was to earn money and finally live a more comfortable life because she was already tired of struggling in poverty. Now that she had been given an opportunity, she was determined to make the most out of it.
Seeing that Betchay had already made up her mind and would not change it, Rudy angrily told her, "Kung 'yan ang gusto mo! Bahala ka sa buhay mo!"
