Just when the teaser had us fooled into expecting a cliché amnesia storyline in “Coco Martin’s Sigabo,” avid viewers were surely surprised and amused to discover that Julia Montes’ character, Sam, had not actually lost her memory after all, as it was all just an act!
It was revealed in the August 25 episode when she finally woke up after suffering from a high fever and the wound she had sustained after a bullet from Lucas' (Ronwaldo Martin) gun grazed her left arm. Sam was bewildered to find herself inside an unfamiliar room surrounded with different types of weapons, more so when she discovered that it was the house of the man whom she accused of taking advantage of her—Gabo (Coco Martin).
She initially planned to get away from him, but upon hearing him tell his friends that her life is in danger as a group of suspicious men has been lurking in Ginintuang Lupa since the night before—the same time she crashed onto the roof of the Magtibay residence and fell straight beside Gabo—Sam decided to stay. To ensure her own safety, she came up with the idea of pretending to have lost her memory so that Gabo and his family would let her stay with them until it's already safe for her to leave.

Although she managed to convince them with her acting, little did she expect that Gabo would also put on his own show by pretending to be her husband—and even giving her a different name, which is Gloria. Totally ridiculous!

As we look forward to seeing how Gabo and Sam’s respective pretenses will unfold in the coming episodes, let’s take a peek at the off-cam moments of the beloved CocoJul tandem through this exclusive behind-the-scenes report shared by their “Sigabo” castmate Jerald Napoles via CCM Film Productions’ social media platforms.
With his co-star Nikko Natividad being playful in the background as he sipped his drink, Jerald related that work must go on for them despite the rain that day. Fans may have already seen plenty of behind-the-scenes features from the series, but Jerald considered this one the most special of all because, aside from featuring Julia’s first scenes in Ginintuang Lupa, it also captured some off-cam moments of CocoJul that are sure to delight their ardent supporters.
Despite being visibly in “work mode,” with Coco seriously directing Julia and giving out instructions to the rest of the cast and crew on the proper execution of certain scenes, the reel-and-real-life couple still managed to trigger everyone’s kilig with their undeniable chemistry.
Julia was caught gazing lovingly at Coco as she sat beside him and watched him discuss the scenes with the team while her hair was being fixed. Besides, they were also spotted holding hands as they moved to a different part of the house.
Apart from giving us a glimpse of the sweet bond between Coco and Julia—something their characters have yet to show—this behind-the-scenes montage also offers a peek at the upcoming scenes of Gabo and Sam that audiences should watch out for!
