“Sigabo" lead stars Coco Martin and Julia Montes sparked kilig as they enthusiastically took on the fun and exciting “Finish the Sentence Challenge”
In this game, CocoJul—as what their tandem is fondly called by fans—must complete every sentence given to them by a production staff member, offering viewers a glimpse of who they are off-cam and of their beautiful and enduring relationship, which has remarkably withstood the test of time.
The first to take his turn was the “Hari ng Aksyon sa Ating Henerasyon,” who finished the phrase, "Mission accomplished ako kapag..." by disclosing that it's whenever he is able to give his very best to a project or any endeavor with his whole heart. Coco makes sure that he has poured out all his ideas and everything he could do to something he's working on without stepping on anyone else.
Julia, meanwhile, proudly expressed her love and pride for Coco when she supplied her answer to the phrase, "Mas minamahal kita kapag..." According to her, she has loved Coco even more the longer she spends time with him and gets to know him better each day. She particularly admires his kind heart, noting that he often puts other people’s needs before his own.
Although they have been partners in life for more than a decade, Julia admitted that she gets to discover new sides of Coco as the years go by. While others may assume that couples already know everything about each other after spending many years together, Julia sees it differently, saying that she continues to unravel more surprises about Coco—including his heart of gold.
This reminded Coco of the first time Julia watched him giving instructions, providing lines, doing the blockings of their castmates in "FPJ's Ang Probinsyano," which was the last teleserye they did together prior to "Sigabo." He remembered Julia telling him that she found him even more handsome while she watched him guide other actors, which got her totally mesmerized and amazed by how he's able to do it. Julia enthusiastically confirmed this, with Coco further confessing that even him had no idea how he'd managed to pull it off.
"Sabi ko, huwag kang mag-alala, hindi ko rin alam paano ko rin siya nagagawa. Si God na lang lahat ng gumagawa no'n kasi minsan, honestly, 'pag pinapanood ko 'yong after the take, sinasabi ko, paano ko nagawa 'yon? Hindi ko matandaan 'yong lines kung paano ko nabuo lahat-lahat, pero kapag nag-umpisa na ako, dumaldal na ako, dire-diretso na. Kaya na-amaze din ako," Coco related. He added relaying to Julia that it could be the gift from God that people have been telling him he possesses.
Coco was then asked to complete the phrase, "Pinakatakot ako kapag...," to which he disclosed that Julia knows all too well how nervous he gets whenever they're aboard an airplane. He's scared of heights and turbulence, so he would always hold onto her very tightly. Julia, however, claimed that he had already changed since it was already him who advised her to hold on to him whenever there was turbulence during their latest trip.
It was Coco again who took on the next phrase, which is, "Takot ako kay Julia dahil...," and shared that what he feels toward her is not fear but respect. Besides, he said he has not done anything wrong or committed anything that would make her angry, so he is always confident when facing her. Julia clearly agreed by commenting, "Good boy."
The Prime Actress, meanwhile, kept her answer short and sweet when she finished the phrase, “Ipaglalaban kita kahit...” with “kahit mawala pa ang lahat sa akin.”
For sure, CocoJul shippers were thrilled to hear the celebrated actor-director-producer’s response when he was asked to complete the sentence, “Nalulungkot ako kapag...” He told Julia, “Kapag hindi tayo magkasama,” which elicited an obvious kilig reaction from her.
"Kasi, honestly, kahit naman sa mga bagay o okasyon na hindi naman kami dapat magkasama, like sa mga commercial ko, lagi ko siyang sinasama kasi, sabi ko nga, sayang kasi 'yong araw, ‘di ba?" he explained.
Coco went on to impart how incomplete he feels whenever they are apart and how he has grown accustomed to always having Julia by his side. He often finds himself looking for her whenever he has questions or needs support because simply seeing her gives him confidence and reassurance. Her presence, he said, reminds him that he has someone who is there for him and whom he would never want to let down.
And for the final phrase, “Magtatampo ako kapag...,” Julia revealed that she would feel hurt if Coco suddenly stopped putting himself first because of how hardworking he is.
With these sweet and candid revelations, fans certainly have more reasons to look forward to seeing more CocoJul moments onscreen!
