Do you think their characters' first-ever encounter in the pilot episode of "Coco Martin's Sigabo" was already kilig? Well, just wait until you see reel-and-real-life sweethearts Coco Martin and Julia Montes take the romantic feels up a notch in the upcoming episodes—especially now that their characters, Gabo and Sam, have crossed paths anew, this time under completely different circumstances.
It all began when Julia’s character, Sam, was ambushed by Lucas (Ronwaldo Martin) and his group after she and her team successfully apprehended his older brother, notorious gold-smuggling syndicate leader Victor “Tigre” Zafra (JM de Guzman) and took him into custody at the NCIA. Despite being clearly outnumbered since she was driving alone on her way home at the time, Sam bravely fought back while waiting for the backup she had requested from Director Fernando Delgado (Soliman Cruz).

Unfortunately, she sustained a gunshot wound in her left shoulder as Lucas managed to shoot her, which compelled Sam to run away and hide from them. With nowhere to go after Lucas and his group were able to catch up with her, she desperately jumped off the bridge and plunged into the river, staying submerged until her enemies were done riddling her with bullets and then left the scene.
After resurfacing on the other side of the river, Sam ran toward a nearby wall and climbed over it despite her injury. She eventually made her way to the roof of one of the shanties and ran across the rooftops—only to accidentally crash through the roof of the Magtibay residence, landing straight inside Gabo’s room. At the time, Gabo was deep in contemplation about his life, praying to God to finally bless him with the woman he would love and spend the rest of his life with.

Sam landed beside Gabo as he lay on his bed, leaving him utterly stunned. His family was equally shocked and panicked at the sight of Sam—unconscious, wounded, and holding a gun in one hand. Despite their apprehension, the family eventually agreed to let Sam stay in their home until she regained consciousness and recovered, following Gabo’s heartfelt plea.
And as viewers eagerly anticipate what happens next—especially now that Gabo lies to Sam by introducing himself as her husband—lead actor, director, and producer Coco takes fans behind the scenes of Julia’s intense action sequence with his younger brother, Ronwaldo, in this exclusive video uploaded by CCM Film Productions across its online platforms.
Although he wasn't part of the sequence and was busy filming his own scenes as Gabo prepared for his next mission, he made sure to be present on the set—not only to ensure that everything went smoothly, but also to show his unwavering support for his longtime partner. He even gave Julia a hug after she filmed one of the scenes and took the time to discuss the upcoming sequences with her. Very sweet and hands-on, indeed!
During the break, the CCM Film Productions social media team had the chance to ask Direk Coco about what’s in store for viewers of the top-rating series. He related, "Ito na 'yong kuwento kung paano na paglalapitin 'yong journey namin, na mapupunta siya sa Ginintuang Lupa dahil sa paghahabol sa kanya ng mga kalaban. Wala siyang choice kundi magtago."
He further teased, "Yon ang magiging start ng takbo ng kuwento kung paano kami magkakalapit, magkakakilala sa isa’t isa, at doon tatakbo ang romance and comedy ng buong show."
Moreover, Coco explained that the accidental meeting of Sam and Gabo will serve as the starting point for their characters to slowly get to know each other and eventually grow closer—giving viewers plenty to look forward to as their relationship unfolds. Julia, meanwhile, looked visibly delighted and kilig as she listened to Coco passionately talk about what viewers can expect from their characters’ growing lovestory.
