MANILA — Rising P-pop group One South is bringing their music and culture from Mindanao to Manila as they begin a new chapter under Vibrant Voice Production & Talent Management Inc.
Members Jace, Drey, Jhev, Arvy and Rover revealed that SB19 largely inspired their P-pop journey.
"Nabuo po kami dahil sa SB19," Jhev said during One South's "HIYAW: Mula sa Timog" media launch in Quezon City.
"Before kami naging P-pop group, we are A'TIN. One of our biggest dreams, ma-meet SB19. Sila biggest influence namin. Iba kasi yung SB19, iba dala ng talent and story nila," Jace added.
During the launch, One South performed their original songs "Galak" and "Hiyaw," as well as renditions of TJ Monterde's "Tulad Mo" and SB19's "DUNKA" and "MAPA."
"Gumamit kami kulintang, gumamit kami tribal sounds, ginamit namin sa nga kanta namin," Arvy explained.
"Yung goal po namin is mabahagi yung kanta and kultura na meron tayo sa Pilipinas. Hindi lang Mindanao but culture of the Philippines."
