In a rare moment at his Careless Music studio in Makati City on Wednesday, James Reid opened up about wanting to start a family and have a child with girlfriend Issa Pressman.
“We've been talking about family for a long time, but I'm currently very busy with my projects. But it is definitely the future,” Reid told ABS-CBN News.

Josh Mercado Vulnerable in the interview, Reid got candid about “Indiana,” a deeply personal song from his latest album “Honey, I’m Home,” which he co-wrote with Pressman as a dedication to their future child.
“We mentioned that name (Indiana) one day and considered it for a baby name. Issa and I always talk about having a child. I thought, ‘Wow, we love this imaginary person who does not exist yet and is not even present. We love you even though you aren’t here.’ That love will be there even after we are gone,” Reid confessed.
Explaining why “Indiana” took the longest to write, the Kapamilya A-list star shared with ABS-CBN News, “It wasn't easy because I'd never written about this topic before. It's also something I hope my child will hear one day and something I want to dedicate to my future child. I want to make certain that we write a beautiful song that is timeless and will withstand the passage of time.”

He also admitted that the song made him very emotional, thinking about having a child with the love of his life.
When asked what kind of father he would be in the future, he said, “I want to be the type of person who makes room for others to feel safe, loved, and secure. That's the kind of father I want to be.”
The actor-musician also told ABS-CBN News that he is at peace now after overcoming past personal issues.
“It's going to seriously mess up your head, in my opinion. It should; otherwise, something is wrong with you. I learned a long time ago that I cannot let others define who I am. I used to give those people power, which led to really bad places. Once I figured out how to really be in control of myself and decide who I am, I kind of felt untouchable in a way and that they couldn't take my peace anymore,” he opened up.
“I'm glad I've come a long way after a few issues that had a significant impact on my life and put me through a difficult time. I'm glad I've come so far since then,” he added.
