The OST of the James Reid and Kathryn Bernardo's new Netflix series' 'Someone, Someday' is a great mix of well-curated songs from ABS-CBN Music and five new songs from Reid that will both give more substance to the story. Presented by Dreamscape Entertainment.
ABS-CBN Music artists Angela Ken and Bryan Chong were featured on the first episode of Netflix Philippines' #1 TV series Someone, Someday starring James Reid and Kathryn Bernardo.
Angela's "Kulimlim" has been prominently featured on every episode so far, beginning with the soon-to-be-iconic scene where Kathryn's and James' best friend characters, Billy and Jordan, respectively, were slow dancing away on what was supposed to be the reception to Billy's failed wedding.
The 2024 release has so far amassed nearly 2.4 million streams and is included in her present album Panahon. The song will almost certainly be a highlight in her upcoming solo major concert Panahon Na Natin happening October 18 at New Frontier Theater.
Not bad for a song that Angela didn't co-wrote as a romantic song per se. In an interview session with MYX Global, Ken shared that she penned the song with her non-showbiz partner. Ken described the single as a "battle between certainty and uncertainty."
"It's actually, it's not a love song. You are certain about your feelings but the relationship you have with him or her is uncertain," Angela said. "Kaya 'Kulimlim' kasi hindi ka rin sigurado kung uulan o dadaan lang. So may mga tao sa atin na sila yung makukulimlim nating ulap, hindi natin alam kung papaulanan tayo ng pagmamahal o lilipas lang."
Bryan Chong appears on the show's premiere episode with “Sugal”, his own song his debut album Departure. The scene is shot on location at the legendary live band venue saGuijo Bar, which for this series is Jordan's foray into business. The song is about gambling on the uncertainty of sharing your feelings with a friend you're falling in love with not knowing how he or she's going to react.
Expect more songs to come out from the series as soul pop R&B singer FANA's "Tabla Tayo" and MAKI's "Abelyana" are also included in the soundtrack while Ireland's Got Talent semi-finalist Shaniah Rollo will make her ABS-CBN Music debut with her upcoming release "Mag-Isa Lang Ako".
James Reid's character Jordan’s charm is also highlighted as a dedicated artist who is passionate about music. He told One Music PH that he co-wrote and produced five new songs for the series, including "Pauwi Na" and "Sandali", both of which he has already performed in promotion of the show.
