World No. 18 Alex Eala is making a grand return home, bringing her international tennis journey back to the Philippines for a special homecoming event with Filipino fans.
Hosted by Tatler Philippines, Alex will face Indonesia’s Janice Tjen at the Philippine Arena in Bulacan this December 8 as part of her homecoming event, Alex Eala Live: Game. Set. Celebrate.

In a video announcement shared on Instagram, Alex expressed her excitement ahead of the event.
“Kamusta Pilipinas! I’ve got exciting news. I'm coming home. On December 8th, I’ll be playing in the Philippine Arena against Indonesia’s Janice Tjen. Get ready for an unforgettable day of world class tennis and the celebration of national pride designed to inspire the next generation of Filipino tennis players. I can't wait to share this moment with you and celebrate our culture together,” Alex said.
Alex also described the match to be “incredibly special” in the announcement shared by Tatler Philippines on their official website.
“Every time I play abroad, I carry the Philippines with me. To come home and play in front of our fans will be incredibly special,” said Alex. “I want this to be a day where we celebrate our love for tennis, our culture, and the young players who will take the sport forward.”
The event will give Filipino fans an opportunity to see Alex compete on home soil after months of representing the country in tournaments around the world.
Fans who want to be part of Alex’s homecoming can purchase tickets starting at ₱600.
Pre-sale registration is currently open through TicketWorld until September 6 at 11:59 p.m.
Registered fans will receive priority access to the pre-sale and will be among the first to receive official ticket information, match format details, and further event announcements.

The pre-sale will run from September 7 at 12 p.m. until September 13 at 11:59 p.m., while general ticket selling will begin on September 14 at 12 p.m.
Tatler Philippines said the event is a natural extension of its more than two decades of celebrating Filipino excellence on the global stage.
“Alex is coming home, and we hope Filipinos will come together to give her the warm homecoming she deserves,” Tatler Group chief executive officer and chairman Michel Lamunière said. “This is much more than a tennis match. It is a celebration of Filipino pride, sporting excellence, culture, and the next generation.”
Tatler Philippines managing director Irene Francisco likewise highlighted the importance of bringing Alex back to the country and allowing her supporters to celebrate her achievements alongside her.
“Tatler Philippines has celebrated exceptional Filipino talent for more than two decades,” she maintained. “Bringing Alex home gives us the opportunity to celebrate her achievements with the people who have supported her journey.”
The homecoming could also make history on its own.
With a seating capacity exceeding 50,000, the Philippine Arena could provide the setting for an attempt to break the global attendance record for a live tennis match.
The current global record was set during the 2020 Match in Africa exhibition between Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal in Cape Town, South Africa, with 51,954 spectators.
Beyond the main singles match, Alex Eala Live: Game. Set. Celebrate will also feature “youth development clinics, interactive fan experiences, live musical performances, and a celebrity exhibition match featuring leading Philippine personalities” according to Tatler Philippines.
Additional details on the celebrity tennis lineup, entertainment program, and other fan experiences will be announced by Tatler Philippines in the coming weeks.
Currently, Alex remains focused on her US Open campaign. Seeded No. 17, Alex will face a qualifier in the first round of the Women's Singles tournament.
