MANILA -- The Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) ushers in its 51st edition with the Parade of Stars taking over Makati on December 19.
The Parade of Stars is an annual event before the MMFF's nationwide screening on Christmas Day. This year, it will showcase the stars and floats of the eight official film entries: “Call Me Mother,” “Rekonek,” “Manila’s Finest,” “Shake, Rattle & Roll: Evil Origins,” “I’m perfect,” “Love You So Bad,” “Unmarry,” and “Bar Boys: After School.”
MMDA and concurrent overall MMFF chairman Atty. Don Artes said the MMFF is thrilled to bring the MMFF Parade of Stars to the streets of Makati City.
"We are excited to share the celebration with the people in Makati City for the first time. The upcoming 51st Parade of Stars will be another memorable occasion to mark this year's theme: A New Era for Philippine Cinema," Artes said inn a social media post of the Metro Manila Development Authority.
On December 19, the movie-themed floats will assemble at Macapagal Boulevard at 1 p.m. The parade will then travel through Buendia Avenue, Ayala Avenue, Makati Avenue, JP Rizal Street, A. Reyes Avenue, and will end at Circuit Makati.
The parade will run for one hour and 40 minutes and will cover a distance of 8.4 kilometers.
After the parade, it will be followed by a program and performances at Circuit Makati.
Motorists are advised to avoid the route of the parade and plan their trips accordingly to avoid inconvenience.
