Actress Kakie Pangilinan described what her relationship is like with her older sister, KC Concepcion. She maintained that, despite what social media wants to believe, she loves KC dearly. In an interview with Ogie Diaz, the Edjop star expressed that while they may not be full siblings, she has never felt that her older sister was just a half-sister to her.

KC is the daughter of Sharon Cuneta with ex-partner Gabby Concepcion while Kakie is the daughter of Sharon with her husband, Senator Kiko Pangilinan.

Kakie admitted that there are misunderstandings and disagreements, just like in any typical family. She didn’t disclose any more details about it out of respect for her parents.

“I think, out of respect for my parents, I may not divulge so much information. But I can say this confidently–– she’s my sister. There’s no way around that. I don’t get why people try to detract that. Never ko naisip na half-sister ko siya,” she said.

“Of course, biologically, that’s true. But as far as I’m concerned, I love her very much. I love my sister very much, and I think I can say I miss my sister very much. We haven’t really spoken in a very long time,” she stated.

While they may have not spoken for a long time, the celebrity sister maintained that they’re working on it–– just like any other family. She recalled how she would still write KC’s name every time she would buy cakes for their parents.

“Of course, I think every family naman has you know, I think, some things–– we’re working on it. But I want to make that very clear: I’ve always loved my Ate. I love my Ate so much. Every time I order birthday cakes nga for mom and dad, inuuna ko yung pangalan niya even if we haven’t seen or spoken to each other in a long time,” she maintained.

For Kakie, no one can question her love for her older sister and expressed how she wanted to become like KC when she was growing up.

“I think with me and Ate kasi, you know, there’s a large misconception I think about the dynamics of how that works–– ang laki ng age gap namin. For a very long time, I was a kid and I just wanted to be like my Ate. I love my Ate so much,” she ended.

Meanwhile, Kakie is set to make her debut as an actress in the upcoming film, Edjop, which stars Kapamilya star Jodi Sta. Maria and Elijah Canlas, among others. The film will make its theatrical release in cinemas nationwide starting on September 16, 2026.
