Filipino tennis superstar Alex Eala had nothing but gratitude as she concluded her US Open journey earlier this week. In her Instagram post, the WTA-ranked 18 in the world shared some snaps to remember the run she had until the third round of the last Grand Slam tournament for the year.
Alex bowed out of the US Open following her loss against a familiar opponent, American player Iva Jovic, 7-5, 3-6, 7-5. Despite the loss, this is Alex’s best result in the US Open as she exited in the second round back in 2025.

“Live for the chase💙 Immense gratitude for what I’ve been through this week. US Open ‘26, a forever kind of memory,” Alex wrote.
Players, friends, and fans of Alex shared all the good words and praises in the comment section for a successful run despite falling short.
“You are amazing @alex.eala in every way!! 🔥 you made me love tennis!! Keep fighting! Keep levelling up! We are with you all the way,” Karen Davila said.
“You make us so proud! 🙌🏽❤️🔥Iba ka,” Jericho Rosales added.
“You are amazing!!!❤️🙌👏 we are sooo mighty proud of youuuuu!!! You’ve come so far and still got a loooong way ahead,” Camille Prats maintained.

During the post-match interview, Alex expressed how grateful she was for everything that’s been happening in the past year. She maintained how fortunate she is to be supported by thousands of Filipinos–– seeing the flag of the country everywhere she plays.
“It’s indescribable to sum up the support and how it makes me feel in just a few words. It’s a real privilege to experience this in a lifetime. Playing in Arthur Ashe and feeling the support and being in those environments and learning all these lessons–– fighting and doing what I love. I’m really happy and really lucky to have these opportunities, to have these people support me, and to be working hard–– to be able to work hard–– and to be able to live this life with how I am living it,” she said.
Meanwhile, Alex will be suiting up for the National Team as she’s set to play at the Asian Games where she’s hoping to take home a Gold medal and the chance to qualify at the LA 2028 Olympic Games.
