Zsara Laxamana admitted that she and the other VMX Babes were saddened after learning that they would no longer be guest performers at the Viva Hot Babes’ reunion concert on October 23.
According to Laxamana, they were part of the initial planned lineup for “Bulaklak.”
“Mag-guest kami dapat pero parang kinancel ata ng mga ate. Pero okay lang po, pupunta kami to support. Okay lang since idol namin sila,” the actress explained during the press conference for her new show “Masahe.”
“Hindi ako magpaka-hipokrito, na-sad talaga ako. Lalo na kasamahan ko sa VMX Babes. Excited kami ma-meet mga ate. Hindi namin ma-control nararamdaman nila."
Laxamana emphasized that she understands the decision.
“Vina-validate namin feelings nila. Sad lang but we are very happy and proud sa mga ate,” she reasoned.
The “Masahe” host also shared that she and the girls were saddened when “Hot” was dropped from their group’s name, changing “VMX Hot Babes” to simply “VMX Babes.”
Andrea Del Rosario admitted in an interview with Boy Abunda that the Viva Hot Babes had spoken with Viva management about the new group’s name.
“Sad po. Since idol namin mga ate parang hindi namin in-expect maging reaction nila. Parang Sex Bomb happy sila na may nag-idolize sa kanila. Parang kami ‘ay hindi pala happy and proud sa amin na may bagong generation nag-idolize sa kanila. Medyo sad. Pero kinausap ko girls gawin natin motivation and inspiration,” Laxamana explained.
In the same interview Del Rosario explained that the Viva Hot Babes have nothing against the VMX Babes, but that “Hot Babes” is special to them.
Laxamana clarified that they remain in good terms with the Viva Hot Babes and respects them.
“Na-meet ko sila the other day habang nagre-rehearse. Okay po kami. Mababait po sila. Si Ms Maui, Katya, Alessanda [Andrea]… We respect namin decision ng mga ate,” she noted.
