Miss Universe Organization (MUO) has continued to express and affirm their decision to support reigning queen, Fátima Bosch, amid the arrest warrant claim by Thai businessman Nawat Itsaragrisil. In their official social media accounts, the MUO expressed how this goes beyond “a stage, a crown, or a competition” as they continue to protect and support Fátima.

Nawat previously shared on his Instagram Stories that an arrest warrant has been made against Fátima for a case that’s involving defamation, false allegations, and dissemination of false information. According to the Miss Grand International President, the case is supported by “clear evidence.”

Following his post, the MUO released an official statement and shared their stance to show their support towards their reigning queen.

“Violence, intimidation, humiliation, disrespect, and mistreatment of women, in any of their forms, are unacceptable. No woman should ever feel that she must remain silent to protect an opportunity, a position, a title, or a dream,” MUO said in their statement.

The Organization shared how respect isn’t earned through silence. Rather, it is a right not just of Fátima but of all the women around the globe.

“Across generations and continents, titleholders, National Directors, former Miss Universe winners, delegates, and women who have been part of this Organization raise their voices in solidarity with Fátima and against any conduct that seeks to humiliate, intimidate, diminish, or silence a woman,” the statement continued.

They added how this is no longer about nationality, competition, titles, or crowns, but of dignity. As an organization that champions women, MUO maintained their commitment in supporting all women.

“We must continue building an Organization where empowerment is not merely something we speak about on a stage, but something we practice when it matters most; where every woman knows that she can say, ‘this is not right’ without fear, and that standing up for herself will never mean standing alone,” they maintained.

MUO affirmed that they will continue to support their reigning queen against Nawat.

“Today, together, we raise our voices against mistreatment, intimidation, and abuse, and in unwavering defense of the dignity, safety, and respect of every woman,” the statement ended.

Nawat has yet to release another statement about the issue as of writing. The Thai businessman just concluded the Miss Universe Thailand pageant earlier this week where Tharina Botes was hailed the champion.
