Miss Universe 2022 R’Bonney Gabriel just hit a million followers on Instagram earlier this week after pageant fans urged netizens to give her a follow. This comes after comments were made by Miss Universe Organization president Raul Rocha about the beauty queen not even reaching a million followers, saying she only had around 800,000, during her stint as Miss Universe.

R’Bonney had less than one million followers earlier this week but netizens were quick to respond to the call and in less than a day, she finally had reached 1.1 million as of this writing.

She expressed her gratitude towards everyone that showed their support and gave her a follow on Instagram. She maintained that it was “never about the numbers” despite people looking down on her for having less than a million.

“In less than 24 hours, yall got me to 1 MILLION followers! It was never about the numbers, but people have looked down on me just because of my social media follower count,” she wrote.

“Thank yall so much for supporting me. Maraming salamat sa suporta. Your support is so strong and so real,” she added.

The former Miss Universe asserted that she’ll be using her following to push for her advocacies which includes sustainable fashion.

“This gives me a bigger platform to share my passion for design. To use fashion as a force for good. It was always about advocating for the arts, making women feel beautiful in my designs, and sustainability through my brand @rbonneynola_design,” she expressed.

R’Bonney maintained that negativity shouldn’t foster on her page and asked her followers to not leave any hate comments under her post.

“It feels crazy to celebrate this, but I’m happy 😊 let’s not forget there’s still a whole world out there beyond digital platforms. Human connection and impact is still what’s most important,” she ended.

Fans congratulated her for achieving such a feat in less than a day that they urged netizens to give her a follow. Other netizens expressed how they’re such a fan of her for being so graceful despite the comments made against her.
