Since officially confirming her separation with actor Archie Alemania earlier this year, actress Gee Canlas is proving she is ready to go for newer and better things. The 42-year-old actress was announced as once of the top finalists in this year’s batch of Century Tuna Superbods.

Gee, who is also a mother to her son Caleb, shared in a  post about how important it was for her to work out again and to be fitter and healthier, both mentally and physically.

She wrote, “A year ago, if you had told me I'd be one of the Top 20 female finalists of @centurytunasuperbods 2026, I probably would've smiled... but I wouldn't have believed you. I was in a completely different place back then. I started going to the gym because I needed an outlet. Somewhere between showing up on the good days and choosing to show up on the hard ones, I realized I wasn't just building a stronger body... I was slowly becoming myself again.”

Aside from being a fitness journey, it was also her path to rediscover herself once more.

“I guess that's what I've been calling ’Muchness’ all this time. Not becoming someone new... just rediscovering the happiest, healthiest, strongest and most authentic version of yourself that somehow got buried under life. Maybe some of you know that feeling too,” she mused.

Gee looks forward to the journey with eagerness and wonder. She is excited to meet others, and to find out more of her “Gee-ness”.

“Here's to finding our way back... and surprising ourselves in the process.  So grateful. Lord knows the tears I've cried to get here. And I honestly can't wait to see where this takes me—to challenge myself in ways I never have before, meet incredible people, and discover even more of my Muchness... my Gee-ness,” she added.

Joining the annual fitness competition was also something unexpected for Gee, who never imagined that her fitness journey would take her to this level. In another post, she shared that her son was her main inspiration in pushing herself further into this new journey in her life.

“A year ago, I couldn't imagine my life looking like this. There was a point when I genuinely believed I had nothing left to give. I even remember saying out loud, "If ganito na talaga then fine. I give up." Thankfully, God wasn't done with me. Every time I wanted to stop trying, I'd look at @imcalebarcher I knew he was watching. More than anything, I wanted him to grow up seeing that his mom was a fighter—that even after life knocks you down, you can choose to rise anyway,” she said.

Gee admitted that her initial motivation wasn‘t to be healthy. Rather, she started working out as sort of distraction.

“Ironically, none of this started because I wanted to get fit. I started going because I needed somewhere to redirect my thoughts. Then something unexpected happened. The workouts became more than workouts. The discipline spilled into every part of my life. Without realizing it, I was rediscovering my joy... and pieces of myself I thought I'd lost.”

This led to something even bigger.

“Then the bestie @abbyasistio encouraged me, ’Why don't you join Century Tuna Superbods?‘ I was like ’Heh?’ 😂 But looking back now... maybe I was already preparing for it. Not just for a competition, but for this season of my life.”

Gee maintained that while the competition is a good motivation, her health and fitness journey was about something more.

”A season of rediscovering my Muchness—my Gee-ness—through discipline, fitness, and choosing myself over and over again,” she said. “This isn't about having the perfect body. It's about becoming healthier. Stronger. More present. More joyful. More me.”

As a finalist advocating for rediscovering one’s “muchness” or greatest potential in life, Gee also honors solo parents like her who are all trying their best for themselves.

In another post, she wrote, “I dedicate this to 2024 Gee.  Looking back, I never would've predicted this plot twist. But wow, Lord, You really are a God of surprises. 🙌 This walk is for the solo parents, for anyone finding their way back to their Muchness, their strongest selves and most of all, for my boy Caleb. ❤️. Couldn't be more proud and grateful for this fitness and healing journey I've been on. I keep marvelling at how God can surprise you, the smallest steps can lead to the biggest personal wins.”
