TV host and actress Gee Canlas marked her birthday on February 6 with a deeply personal post that has since sparked speculations about her relationship with husband Archie Alemania.

Sharing a photo from a photoshoot by the river, Gee took to Instagram to reflect on what she described as a difficult and transformative year and opened up about the emotional toll of the past months, choosing to keep details private while acknowledging the weight of what she had gone through.
“This past year was rough. No need for specifics — some things are meant to be processed alone. But I lost parts of myself, held on longer than I should have, and learned the hard way what it costs to keep showing up while quietly disappearing,” she began.
Set against the calm of nature, Gee said the moment made her feel free, describing how the surroundings helped her reconnect with herself and regain a sense of grounding.
“Shooting this felt freeing. I remember looking up, seeing the sky, hearing the river, and feeling incredibly grateful. It reminded me to come back into my body, my breath, my own space — to remember who I am when I’m not shrinking, explaining, or carrying more than what’s mine.”

As she reflected on turning a new page, Gee shared that she is now choosing to prioritize herself and no longer lessen who she is for others. She also emphasized that this choice is something she is making not just for herself, but for the people she loves most, especially her son.
“I’m choosing to love myself with the same consistency and effort I give others, and I’m no longer making myself smaller for anyone. I want to show up more. For myself, for Caleb, for the people I love, and for the work that’s always felt like home to me.”
It was a line later in the caption, however, that caught the attention of netizens and fueled speculation about her marital status. In describing the roles she is embracing in this phase of her life, Gee referred to herself as a “solo parent.”
“That’s the only way I can be fully me as a daughter, sister, a friend, a woman… as a solo parent.”
Notably, her social media accounts do not include Archie in any of the posts.
The statement quickly led to questions online about whether Gee and Archie are now separated. Gee concluded her post by framing her birthday as a moment of "rebirth" and self-rediscovery.

The post comes after Archie made headlines in October last year when he was found found guilty in Rita Daniela’s acts of lasciviousness complaint. The actress had accused comedian of sexually violating her and making repeated inappropriate remarks during a ride home from a gathering in 2024. Daniela shared a screenshot of her message to the actor following the incident, where she said she felt disrespected and violated. In the same exchange, Archie was seen apologizing and saying he was drunk.
The court sentenced Archie to up to one year of jail time and ordered him to pay the complainant ₱20,000 in civil indemnity and ₱20,000 in moral damages.
As of this writing, Gee has not confirmed whether she and Archie are officially separated, leaving her birthday post open to interpretation as she continues to focus on healing, self-discovery, and motherhood.
