Angeline Quinto revealed that she kept her college studies a secret from her husband, Nonrev Daquina, because she was unsure if she would be able to finish her degree.

In an interview on Bernadette Sembrano’s latest YouTube vlog, the singer shared that no one in her family knew that she had gone back to school.

"Wala pong nakakalalam sa kanila na nag-aral ako... Kulang na lang pag-isipan niya akong may iba," she said, referring to her husband.

Angeline explained that she chose to keep it to herself because she did not want to tell her family about it until she was certain she could graduate.

"Kasi nga hindi naman po ako siguradong makaka-graduate. Kung hindi man ako  maka-graduate akin na lang' yun," she explained.

She compared the experience to the singing competitions she used to join before finding success in showbiz.

"Parang sa contest po dati. 'Yung sali ako sa contest pero ayaw ko nang ipaalam sa kanila kasi kung matalo man ako, ako lang 'yung [may alam]," she pointed out.

Angeline shared that it took her five years to complete her degree, with only her manager knowing about her studies. "'Yung manager ko, kaming dalawa ang nakalaalam," she said.

The singer also opened up about the challenges of balancing school with her career and family life.

"'Yung year na 'to kasi kasabay nung pagbubutis ko kay Sylvia, may ginawa po kaming series with Paulo Avelino and Kim Chiu. Nagkasabay-sabay so naghabol ako ng ibang mga requirements na kailangan kaya ako umabot ako ng 2026 na dapat last year pa po ako dapat grumadweyt so sabi ko okay lang, sabi kung ganun, kaysa hindi ako grumadweyt," she said.

Despite the delay, Angeline said completing her studies remained important to her. More than fulfilling a personal dream, Angeline said earning her college degree was also something she wanted to do for her children, Sylvio and Sylvia.

"Iniisip ko talaga ang Mama eh (pertaining to her late mother, Mama Bob). Gusto ko rin talaga makapagtapos ng college kasi gusto kong maging best example kay Sylvio and Sylvia," she said.

It was in June when Angeline completed her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degree, majoring in Marketing Management, at Immaculada Concepcion College in Caloocan City.

"Sa kabila ng puyat at pagod kasabay ng pagiging nanay kay (Sylvio and Sylvia) kasabay ng mga shows, music events out of town and out of the country, shoot ng series, kinaya," she posted on her Instagram page at that time.

The singer also dedicated the milestone to her Mama Bob, whom she wished could have been there to celebrate with her.  "And Mama… My angel in heaven, this is the moment I wish l could share with you the most. I love you forever," she said.
