Kris Aquino said that her famously 'maarte' personality has toned down.
The Queen of All Media has long been known for her quick wit, expressive reactions, candid humor, spontaneous one-liners, and animated personality. These, in part, made her a beloved figure among Filipino audiences.
Now back in the spotlight through Netflix Philippines’ three-part promotional campaign, Kris has once again given fans a glimpse of the vibrant personality they have missed.
Her first two episodes as Netflix Philippines’ C.H.I.K.A. or Chief Head of Insight and Kontent Analysis, already featured her signature expressions and playful humor, including a subtle nod to her iconic “lumilindol” meme in the second episode.

As fans welcomed her return, one netizen could not help but point out the return of Kris’ trademark personality, commenting: “lol. gotta love her trademark kris kaartehan that only she can pull off 😆”
Kris, however, had her own take on whether she is still as 'maarte' as she used to be.
“Will you believe me if I say I am no longer as ‘maarte’ kaya lang for the material to work I need to go back to how I was?” wrote Kris in the comments.
“I would love to do a reality show para makita at marinig nyo how much I have tone down, in my opinion by at least 30%. For most maarte pa rin, for me pang school library na,” she maintained.

The idea of a new reality show with Kris immediately caught the approval of fans, especially since she has previously hosted Kris TV and several other TV shows, where viewers became accustomed to seeing more of her candid and unfiltered personality.

Another netizen referenced her famous 'lumilindol' meme, suggesting that she buy jewelry from a luxury brand while also expressing how much they missed her vlogs. Replying to the netizen, Kris said that her interests have shifted over the years.
“My left earlobe closed. I haven’t been wearing earrings in so long. I have grown up a lot since then, but my new collection is personalized stationery, note cards, and 1.0 gel pens. I need to keep writing or else I will lose my grip and 3 of my autoimmune diseases that affect the control of my hands will win,” she maintained.

Her love for writing also extended to the Netflix campaign itself. In another exchange with a fan who appreciated the dialogue in the episode, Kris revealed that she had a hand in writing parts of the script, allowing her own personality and taste to come through the campaign.

While fans have mostly seen the fun and witty side of Kris in the first two episodes, people who were with her during the shoot also witnessed the immense effort behind her return to the screen.
Content creator and entertainment vlogger Mama Loi shared in an Instagram reel that Kris experienced physical difficulties during filming, including swollen legs due to her rheumatoid arthritis. Despite this, she said Kris remained upbeat throughout the shoot.
“But she never complained, kahit hirap at pagod she was always in high spirits, at pag nasa harap na ng camera wala ka nang mahahalata na she’s in pain. She is a true professional. At kahit may iniindang sakit, palaging “take 1” si KCA,” Mama Loi said.
“Her cut-off time was 12 midnight, but she finished the shoot with no complaints until 1:30 AM,” she added.

Kris’ longtime makeup artist RB Chanco likewise shared what happened behind the scenes, recalling that Kris’ allergies suddenly acted up during the shoot and caused her eyes to continuously tear.
After taking time to get Kris ready for the cameras, RB said Kris still managed to deliver the performance everyone expected from her with only one take.
“And Kris did what Kris does. She gave us the Kris we all know and love. Funny, energetic, professional and completely in her element. Even when I knew she was in pain, she kept going. No complaints. She gave it everything she had. As if the hiatus had never happened,” RB said. “One take. That’s Kris.”
Fans can look forward to the third and final episode of Netflix Philippines’ three-part promotional campaign, which is set to drop on August 20.
