It’s official. Anne Hathaway is now a Disney Legend.
The legendary actress was moved to tears when she went up onstage at the Disney Legends night and accepted the honor presented to her by ‘Devil wears Prada’ director David Frankel, accompanied by a video by former Vogue editor in chief Anna Wintour.
Hathaway said she’s a lucky girl to have been given the right projects and surrounded and supported by the right people.
“I am here today because I’m one of the most insanely lucky people in the world,”
She continued, “How lucky am I that I was born into a family where acting, storytelling and imagination were valued and celebrated.”
With “Princess Diaries” as her first movie project, “How lucky am I that my first studio picture ever starred perhaps the greatest Disney Legend of all time, the incomparable Julie Andrews.”
And with an incredible box office debut, everything rolled out well for her until her most recent box office Disney success with “Prada”.
“I’m so lucky that my first booking led to so many opportunities when I was still so young, getting a job that a million girls were built for in ‘The Devil Wears Prada. I got to be with Stanley Tucci. I got to be with Emily Blunt. I got to be with, [uhm] oh what’s her name?” Anne said, pretending to forget Streep’s name. ‘Meryl!’
“I’ve gotten to spend my life so far, doing what I love, having so many adventures along the way, knowing joy and valuing the extraordinary good fortune that allows me to share my life with my greatest blessing, a family I couldn’t love more.”

Anne is in good company as the Disney Legends class of 2026 consisted of groundbreaking producers, animators, singers, leaders and more.
Nick, Kevin and Joe Jonas of the Jonas Brothers also received their legendary honors, with Vanessa Hudgens presenting the award.
Animator extraordinaire Eric Goldberg was also inducted. Some of Goldberg’s notable works include 'Aladdin's Genie, Louis the Alligator in the 'The Princess and the Frog', Mini Maui in 'Moana', and even co-directed ‘Pocahontas’.
Voice Alan Tudyk was also part of the exclusive list. Tudyk lend his voice in iconic Disney characters such as 'Heihei' in 'Moana', 'King Candy' in 'Wreck it Ralph', 'Alistair Krei' in 'Big Hero 6', 'The Duke of Weselto' in 'Frozen' among many others.
Actor Dwayne Johnson, blockbuster producer Jerry Bruckheimer, Kim Irvine, broadway actress Susan Egan, sports commentator Chris Berman, modern-day legendary composer Lin Manuel Miranda and former Disney CEO Bob Iger, who was presented the legendary honor by a powerhouse roster - Al Michaels, Ellen Pompeo, Diane Sawyer, Robert Downey Jr. and the one and only Harrison Ford.
