Actor John Estrada had nothing but kind words for Daniel Padilla as he addressed questions about the actor’s connection to his daughter, Kaila Estrada.
During a media interview, Estrada described Padilla as a respectful and humble person whom he has known for years.
“To be honest, I met him before. Dati ko pa kilala si DJ, si Daniel,” Estrada said. “He’s a very good kid. Ang bait na tao, humble, respeto. Wala akong masasabi sa tao.”
Estrada emphasized that character matters most when it comes to the people around his daughter.
“For me, it’s all about the personality and the character of a person,” he said. “I saw DJ from how he started up to now. Mabait na tao 'yung bata.”

Asked about the possibility of a deeper relationship between Padilla and Kaila, Estrada said the decision ultimately belongs to the two.
“If he has something with my daughter, then that’s up to them,” he said. “I wish them well. Wish them happiness.”
The actor stressed that his role as a father is not to dictate his daughter’s choices but to support her and hope for her happiness.
“'Yun lang naman talaga,” he said.
Estrada also shared that the qualities he values most in a potential partner for Kaila include faith, respect for family, and strong character.
“Dapat importante 'yung godly person. May takot sa Diyos. May respeto sa pamilya niya, lalo na sa mga magulang niya.”

For Estrada, those values matter more than anything else.
“At siyempre, 'yung talagang magpapasaya sa kanya,” he said. “Because my daughter’s happy, I’m gonna be happy for her.”
