Former Pinoy Big Brother housemates Kaori Oinuma and Aljon Mendoza shared their experiences juggling academics and their flourishing careers. In a recent vlog by King of Talk Boy Abunda, the two expressed how happy they are as they near the end of their college journeys.
Kaori is taking up Psychology while Aljon is majoring in Marketing Management — both are enrolled at the Philippine Women’s University in Manila and are scholars of Boy himself.

The Kapamilya actress expressed how different life really is for working students –– having shootings and at the same time making sure that deadlines in school are met. She added how considerate her professors have been with her situation, as they give her more time.
“Sobrang welcoming nila, sobrang considerate nila when it comes to schedule namin. Yung mga professors namin, madaling pakiusapan–– kung meron kaming mga late submissions or mga absences,” she expressed.
While Aljon enjoyed the university life, he admitted the harsh reality of being a working student–– seeing some of your classmates and school friends move on to the next stage of life without you.
“Na-enjoy ko pero may mga challenges din. Irregular student kasi ako so may mga classmates ako na nauna mag graduate sa akin tapos iba nanaman yung classmate ko–– medyo mahirap mag adjust sa environment kumbaga,” he admitted.

The two then revealed that they have their goals set after they graduate from university.
Kaori is set to take the Psychometricians Licensure Examination to be able to conduct tests for patients. For Aljon, he will be focusing on his work and passion, but isn’t closing any doors as he is open to all the opportunities that may come his way.
Meanwhile, both Kaori and Aljon expressed their gratitude towards the veteran host for the scholarship he has given them. Boy maintained that he always reminded not just them but the others he has given scholarships to just pay it forward.
“Parati kong sinasabi magpaaral ka ng isa. Halimbawa, napagtapos mo ang iyong kapatid o di kaya isang kaibigan, anak ng isang kumare ng nanay–– basta meron isang mag tapos, masaya na ako dun,” Boy expressed.
