After officially coming out as a trans woman last February, Marina Summers continues to inspire and be outspoken about her transition journey, which started last year. The well-loved Drag Race Philippines alum, who also graces the cover of the fashion magazine Preview this May, shared how fashion has always been a part of her life, even before joining showbiz, and how it has changed since her transition.
“I feel like I’m a product of fashion. My queerness and womanhood was a product of fashion and I’m really, really happy with that. Not only through drag, but also out of drag right now I get to express myself through clothing and through makeup, style, and everything. I feel like I’ve always been into fashion. Now I get to wear more girly clothes and I get to wear less makeup and wear my own hair. Kasi before when I attend events, full drag, full everything di ba? So right now I get to somehow explore this side of fashion, style, and glam,” she shared during the Preview Creatives Night held last month.

Not shy about admitting her own weaknesses, Marina shared why she would never look back on her faux pas moments in fashion with regret.
“Of course! If you haven’t gone through the baduy era where you’re not cringeing, then I feel like you’re not evolving. I feel like maraming moments na ganun, especially when I was still on the verge of transitioning. I didn’t know if it was manly enough, is it feminine enough? So when I started transitioning, I felt like I found my style. I’m proud of all my baduy moments. It made me what I am today, right? Does that make sense?” she laughed as she mentioned her past fashion mistakes.
Now when it comes to fashion, Marina admitted that she is happy to be able to express herself more as a trans woman whether she is in drag or not.
“Now, I feel like I have no more limitations when it comes to my fashion, not only out of drag but also in drag. I’ve become more intentional. I get to express myself and get to be more comfortable with my body in different cuts and silhouettes. I’m more free now and I get to wear everything that I want. Isn’t that fab dear?” she said.

Now that she has become more exposed to public scrutiny, especially after hosting the Miss Universe Philippines 2026 coronation night earlier this month, Marina said she is just always going to be thankful for those who chose to support her and show her love.
“Honestly, when people ask me like what’s the essence of being a trans and everything, I feel like up until now hindi ko siya masagot. But all I know is, the community and the support that I’ve been getting ever since, grabe talaga. Ang sarap sa feeling. Parang not that I’ve been really longing for it, but it’s needed at this very crucial time of my transitioning journey. And I’m really, really happy that I’m very lucky na meron akong ganitong klase ng support system kasi not everyone gets that. I wish that for every trans sisters and brothers natin sa community,” she said.
