Impersonator and stand-up comedian Michelle O’Bombshell has passed away.
Michelle, whose real name is Roderic Cuntapay, rose to fame for her spot-on impersonation of former United States First Lady Michelle Obama, capturing audiences with her wit, stage presence, and comedic timing.
The news of her passing was confirmed by loved ones and friends in the industry. However, details surrounding her death have yet to be disclosed.
Online, those closest to Michelle have begun sharing tributes, remembering her not only as a talented performer but also as a loyal and supportive friend.
Actress-comedienne Tuesday Vargas took to Facebook to honor Michelle, whom she fondly called “Ador.” The two shared a long history that dates back to their time at the University of the Philippines, where they were both part of the Samahan ng mga Mag-aaral sa Komunikasyon (SAMASKOM).
“Salamat sa lahat ng mga naituro mo sa akin lalo na sa pag susulat at pag perform. Marami ang hindi nakaka alam pero 16 lang ako nung naging myembro ako ng UP Samaskom at si Ador ang unang nag tiwala sa akin. Siya ang una kong mentor at direktor. Hanggang ngayon ndi ko matanggap pa pero alam kong nasa piling ka na ng Dyos. Salamat salamat salamat Ador,” Tuesday wrote.
She continued by reflecting on Michelle’s enduring passion for performing despite life’s challenges. “Hindi naging mabait ang mundo sa atin pero hanggang sa huli ay performer ka pa din at nagbibigay saya kahit minsan ay mahirap na. Mahal ka namin Ador. Rest in power. I will forever be grateful to you.”
In another post, actor-comedian Atak shared his memories of Michelle, whom he had known for more than two decades. He also recalled their recent conversation, expressing disbelief over her sudden passing.
“Sobra akung believe sayo Ador a.k.a Michelle O'Bombshell mula 1999 na kilala kita. Sa husay at galing mo sa stage at sa bilis ng utak mo marami kaming humahanga sayo teh,” he wrote.
“Noong isang araw ka chat pa kita pero nagtaka ako sa sinabi mong 2% nalang ang lakas mo? nagbibiroan pa tayo, Tapus kagabi wala kana daw hindi pa ako naniwala kasi baka hindi totoo na wala kana,” he continued.
Atak added that Michelle would always remain their one and only “First Lady” in their comedy bar family.
“Magpahinga kana teh, you will be missed. Rest in Peace with the Lord Jesus Christ. Paalam Ador. 😭🙏,” he concluded.
For years, Michelle remained active in comedy bars, where she built a loyal following through her performances. She also made frequent appearances on television, showcasing her versatility as an entertainer.
Just last October 2025, she appeared as a player on the ABS-CBN weekend game show Rainbow Rumble, alongside fellow comedians Candy Pangilinan, Atak, DJ Onse, and John "Sweet" Lapus.
Michelle also ventured into film, including the 2012 comedy movie My Amiga Girl with Brazilian actress-model Daiana Menezes.
