In her new film My Love Will Make You Disappear, Kim Chiu’s role is that of a 30-something government employee named Sari who is scared to fall in love. But when she meets her mysterious new neighbor Jolo (played by Paulo Avelino), Sari’s beliefs are tested. What ensues is a hilarious and sometimes scandalous dialogue as Sari opens up about her physical needs to the new man in her life.
While preparing for the role, Kim said did not have a hard time with the sometimes raunchy dialogue because she full understands where her character is coming from.
“Bilang mga artista, idi-deliver natin yung linya. Pero si Sari dito nasa 30s na siya eh so hindi na naman siya teenybopper or 20s. Conservative siya kasi wala na siyang choice NBSB siya kasi lahat ng minamahal niya, nawawala. Yung parang gusto niya lang mahalin pero hala, nawala na sila. Kaya curious talaga siya about everything, about love, ganyan. So pinasok ko na yung sarili ko kay Sari.
"Pero nung binasa ko yung script, hindi naman siya basta lang sinulat at basta sinabi. May dahilan talaga siya kung bakit siya sinabi. Hats off din sa lahat ng mga writers, creatives, and Star Cinema sa pagiging matapang nila para isulat ito, para ilagay sa trailer, para idilat na ang mga mata at pag-iisip ng mga tao na ito ang pinagdadaanan ng mga mid-30s na babae na hindi pa nagkakajowa."

In one emotional scene, Kim’s character opens up to Jolo and reveals her innermost desires.
“Yes, super talaga yun. Yung buong eksena na yun, ang haba kasi nun eh. Pinaka kinabahan talaga ako sa eksenang yun at sa linyang yun. Buti na lang, nonchalant lang siya nung sinabi ko, wala siyang pakialam (laughs). Mahaba kasi yun, like three paragraphs kasi yun. Ang haba nun. Tatlong page yun. Lahat ng gusto ni Sari, karamihan dun gusto ko rin naman (laughs). Abangan niyo, hindi lang yung mismong salitang yun na totoo pero karamihan talaga, parang totoo talaga siya. Even the real Kim, natamaan din siya. Kaya ayoko siya basahin ng paulit-ulit. Kasi nakakaiyak eh (laughs),” she revealed.
After working closely together on projects like Linlang and What’s Wrong With Secretary Kim?, the kapamilya actress jokingly shared how she and Paulo prepare before shooting their intimate scenes.
“Sabi niya, 'Halika para one take na lang, baka pag inulit, alam mo na!’ (laughs). Mas maganda, one take lang kasi this is such a very important matter (laughs). Kasi baka pag paulit ulit, kami na (laughs)!”
Just like her leading man, Kim also admitted to being serious about keeping in shape, even while busy with shooting the film. “Nag-wo-workout naman ako tuwing umaga talaga. Nag-wo-workout ako para makapag-de-stress. Endorphins na din yun kasi,” she added.

My Love Will Make You Disappear opens in cinemas starting March 26 under Star Cinema. Directed by Chad Vidanes and written by Prime Cruz. It stars Kim Chiu, Paulo Avelino, Wilma Doesnt, Lovely Abella, Benj Manalo, Karina Bautista, Martin Escudero, and Migs Almendras.
