Actress and content creator Bea Borres opened about why she suddenly became less present on social media, admitting that pregnancy changed her life faster than she expected.
In a Facebook post on December 6, she shared that she stepped back from social media a bit as she continues to deal with high-risk pregnancy challenges.
“I haven’t really been active on posting anymore because my pregnancy humbled me real quick. Besides being high-risk, I just haven’t been feeling myself lately. It’s like nawala yung ‘pregnancy glow’ ko,” Bea shared.
She shared that she used to feel secure about her skin and appearance, but now she has been dealing with unexpected physical changes. “I’ve always been conscious of my weight and kahit sobrang makinis ako dati, ngayon may breakouts pa and parang everyday may something na different sa body ko to the point na I don’t even recognize myself anymore,” she admitted.
In photos she posted, Bea showed the current state of her pregnancy journey: her teeth bleeding due to gingivitis, having what she called a “pregnancy nose,” acne breakouts, keloids, and body acne triggered by hormones. She chose to show these realities after realizing that motherhood starts the moment a woman conceives, not just when the baby arrives.
Despite feeling unfamiliar in her own skin, Bea reminded herself that every part of this journey matters. “I told myself na I’d only post until I felt pretty again, pero na-realize ko na this is still me and this is still worth sharing. Motherhood doesn’t start when the baby is out. It starts the moment you get pregnant,” she wrote.
Bea then expressed her gratitude to her support system who constantly reassures her through the tough days. “Thank you to my friends who have been comforting me and assuring me that this is temporary and everything will be okay din soon :< u guys know who u are.” Earlier in November, Bea first revealed that she was experiencing a high-risk pregnancy and that she was choosing to decline brand commitments to keep her baby safe. She later shared in a TikTok video that hospital visits have been frequent and exhausting.
“I’ve been in and out of the hospital every week for labs tapos one time muntikan na ako mag preterm labor,” she said.
In the video, she said that she has been trying to stay emotionally strong, knowing fully how stress can affect her baby. She also remained hopeful and positive especially with her family’s support. She also emphasized that having people to lean on is important for mothers facing similar struggles. Even when it feels overwhelming, Bea tries her best to stay strong.
“I know it’s toxic positivity but wala eh kailangan kong maging happy at kailangan kong umiwas sa stress eh – kailangan ko siyang i-set aside,” she said.
Bea first revealed her pregnancy in a vlog in August, where she announced her excitement about becoming a mother to her daughter who she later named Victoria Hope.
“I promise you and to everyone that gets to watch this in the future that I’d really really be the best mom. It’s true that I’m not ready, but I don’t think anyone or anything prepares you for motherhood,” she shared at the time.
