Hilary Duff announced the title of her brand-new album and its release date.
On her Instagram page, the singer posted: "My new album Luck... or Something is out on Feb 20th ✨ So much love, late night anxiety and a little chaos went into making this album - hoping you see yourself in here the way I have."
She added: "I love you and excited is the largest understatement. Psssst ... you can pre-order it now!"
Fans online were quick to express their excitement about the news.
"I'm so ready for this!" one fan commented.
"This is truly what dreams are made of, I AM SO SERIOUS," another fan wrote.
In a statement as reported by Rolling Stone, Hiliary shared that the album reflects her journey in the entertainment industry.
"I am often asked how I still have my head on straight after growing up in this industry. The album title is my way of answering that question. It's luck, but there's also a lot of weight in the '…or something.' Many of the things I've been through along the way are held there, and I feel like ultimately that’s what’s shaped me," she remarked.
Hilary released the single titled "Mature" off the new album on November 7.
"'Mature' speaks to my mature self calling my not so mature self on the phone many years ago, and she's letting her know we landed softly. This was a brief time with a lover that left me with so many questions… It felt like a good place to start. How are we feeling… Mature?" she previously posted on her Instagram page.
"Mature" marked Hilary's return to music, ten years after the release of her last album, Breathe In. Breathe Out., in 2015.
Hilary first teased her return to music in September. According to a previous PEOPLE report, she recently signed with Atlantic Records ahead of the release of a new album. Alongside the record, Hilary will also star in an upcoming docuseries.
Before announcing her new music project, the singer-actress reflected on her early days in the music industry through a heartfelt Instagram post featuring photos from her debut era.
"Clearly I had to go digging around the internet for pictures from this time as I’m not sure camera phones even existed. Sadly all my hairstyles ARE very documented," she wrote as she shared photos from when she released her first self-titled album.
"I do know this marker of time was a huge change in my being. I was embarking on something I had no idea would make such an impact on people’s lives, and mine. As much as I look back and think this album doesn’t hold the emotional depth I look for today, I know my 14/15 year old self meant every word. It sure as hell also landed on people at the right moment in time and set me off on a pretty epic adventure," she said.
She went on: "I remember some of my first shows being in a skate park in San Jose, and very shortly after, stepping out on stage in arenas. Yesterday marked the 22nd anniversary of Metamorphosis… Although these are distant memories for me, thank you for showing up the way that you did. To be continued."
