MANILA — Rising Filipino tennis players and established netters are set to see action at the expanded 2026 Gentry Open, which stakes a prize pool of P3-million.
This marks the second edition of the tournament, kicking off Thursday, August 20, at the Colegio de San Agustin Tennis Stadium in San Jose del Monte, Bulacan.
The men's single champion will receive P400,000, while women’s winner will have P200,000 in cash prizes.

More than the rewards, it gives Filipinos an avenue to showcase their talents at the grassroots level, amid the rising prominence of World No. 20 women's tennis player Alex Eala.
"I'm very excited for this tournament, I think we're going to bring out the most of the tennis community during this tournament. I'm really, really excited with that," said Gentry Timepieces president Hayb "Pareng Hayb" Anzures, founder of the tourney.
"This is really a good timing for everyone, especially—we would like to acknowledge the success of Alex Eala, of course, bringing the whole community of tennis in the Philippines really alive," he added.
The 2026 edition will feature men’s and women’s open singles events, doubles competitions, and junior divisions. The draws can be found in the tournament's official Facebook page.
Athletes from the India and the United States are expected to compete, adding international flavor to the Bulacan tilt and giving the local players foreign exposure.
"This year, we're expecting more affiliates from international players, so we're expecting a lot of delegates," said Anzures.
During the press conference, it was revealed that around 1,300 have already registered for the competition across divisions.
