AGUSAN DEL SUR -- Quezon City will host the next edition of the Palarong Pambansa in 2027, the Department of Education (DepEd) confirmed.
Education Undersecretary Malcolm Garma said DepEd has already coordinated with the Quezon City government for the staging of the 67th edition of the annual multi-sport event for student-athletes.
“I think the delegation from the Quezon City government will be coming over for the turnover of the Palarong Pambansa banner during the closing ceremony,” Garma said during a press conference on Thursday at the Media Center in Prosperidad, Agusan del Sur.

This will be the second time that Quezon City will host the Palarong Pambansa, with the first held in 1966.
The week-long Palarong Pambansa 2026 continues across various venues in the host province of Agusan del Sur, with more than 13,000 student-athletes from 20 delegations participating in the competition.

Meanwhile, the National Capital Region continues to lead the medal tally in Palarong Pambansa 2026 with 26 gold, 16 silver, and 21 bronze medals as of 10 a.m. on Thursday, May 28.
Region 4-A Calabarzon and Region 7 Central Visayas followed in the standings, respectively.
