A student-athlete representing the Davao Eagles emerged victorious in the secondary girls’ 400-meter hurdles event at the Palarong Pambansa 2026 in Agusan del Sur on Wednesday.
Christy Mel Rose Siva clinched the gold medal as she braved the heavy rain while competing against other athletes at the Datu Lipus Makapandong–Democrito O. Plaza Sports Complex in Prosperidad town.

Despite a setback last year, Siva said she trained for months to come back stronger for this year’s national meet.
“Sobrang happy. Almost one year po talaga ako nag-prepare for this Palaro, kasi last year, pang-finalist, hindi po ako naka-medal. Kaya nilagay ko sa utak at puso ko na babawi talaga ako this season,” she said.
