MANILA — As he pursues his breakthrough Asian Games gold in esports, Karl “KarlTzy” Nepomuceno also has another goal in mind.
Aiming to avenge his 2026 MLBB Mid-Season Cup (MSC) loss in Paris with Team Liquid, KarlTzy hopes to finally make things right and claim the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang gold with SIBOL at the continental meet in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan.
He and Team Liquid previously lost to 0-2 loss to Entity7 in the lower bracket quarterfinals of MSC 2026, suffering a shock elimination way too early in the tourney.
“Very confident naman po kami. Pero alam pa rin naming pangit ‘yung run namin nung MSC kaya babawi kami,” said KarlTzy, widely considered as the GOAT or Greatest of All Time in MLBB.
“‘Yung motivation ko, gustong-gusto ko makabawi sa last loss namin (MSC).”
The bemedalled esports athlete, who has two M-series titles, MSC championship, and multiple MPL crowns to his name, is seeking to complete his collection of achievements—this time, hopefully a continental gold.
“Oo po, yes po. Ito na lang po ‘yung kulang kasi first time din dun sa Asian Games,” said the jungler.
“Siyempre masaya kami na nasali ‘yung ML sa esports sa Asian Games. Expect namin na gagalingan namin,” he added.
KarlTzy said despite the high expectations, they are treating themselves as challengers.
"Tingin ko po kasi ngayon, lahat, pantay-pantay na talaga. Wala kaming, parang tinitingnan talaga. Ti-treat namin sarili namin na kami talaga yung challenger."
