KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia – Philippine teams at the Asia Pacific Predator League 2025 put up a courageous stand but fell short as they failed to retain the Predator Shield in the country.
Last year, it was the Philippines which emerged victorious, as Team Secret and now-defunct Blacklist Rivalry aced their assignments in the Valorant and Dota 2 divisions.
In the Valorant event in the 2025 edition of the Predator League, ZOL Esports succumbed to Indonesian squad Alter Ego in an unfortunate sweep, 0-2, held at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC).
It was still a deserving silver medal win, as the newly formed squad still made it to the finals and secured a decent $20,000 prize, while toppling VCT franchise team Boom Esports from Indonesia in the groups.

Meanwhile, Ivory Dota 2 still made its presence felt in the tourney, but the young squad ultimately lacked the strength to overcome Malaysian crew Myth Avenue Gaming, empowered by Pinoy professional players Mark Anthony "Bob" Urbina and James "Erice" Guerra, in the semifinals with scores of 1-2.
Ivory secured $7,500 for placing 3rd-4th in the Dota 2 event of the tournament organized by Acer.

Bob and Erice, for their part, still have a chance to lift the Predator Shield and take home the lion's share of the prize pool, amounting to $65,000.
Hindering their way to that feat is Team Helios of Indonesia. Game time is Sunday night, concluding the festivities of the Malaysian tourney.
