Ateneo de Manila University guard Kyle Gamber in UAAP Season 88. UAAP Media.MANILA — Ateneo de Manila University will be without one of its rotation guards in its stint in UAAP Season 89.
The 6-foot-3 guard announced that he is set to miss the upcoming men’s basketball campaign of the Blue Eagles due to “personal reasons,” as the team continues to course through the passing of Rene Baterbonia and Divine Adili.
“I love the team, especially all the guys. Let’s not push any false narratives. Thank you,” he said in a social media post.
Gamber appeared in only six games in UAAP Season 88, tallying three points and two rebounds across 22:56 minutes of action in those matches.
He was still listed on Ateneo’s roster for the 2026 PinoyLiga Cup-The Big Dance, with the team opening its campaign last week with a 71-60 win over Our Lady of Fatima University at the Blue Eagle Gym to advance to the Round of 16 as part of its preparations for the upcoming UAAP season.
UAAP Season 89 will open on September 12 at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay.
