Much like Rey Remogat a year ago, the UP Office of Athletics and Sports Development (OASD) announced Wednesday that Rainer Maga would move to Diliman to play for the Fighting Maroons.

"I'm lost for words as I'm writing this down," he said in a previous post. "No person would ever want to leave something so valuable to them, and never in my wildest dreams did I expect that I would have to make that very decision."
"In the industry I am in, growth and improvement are vital both as an individual and as an athlete. My family has come to a decision where my heart says no, but everyone around me says yes."
"Thank you for everything, UE, from letting me in and taking care of me as a player, to building me and shaping me as a person. I am very honored to have been given the chance to represent the greatness of the Red and White."
"Nothing but gratitude is in my heart. Genuinely grateful to everyone and for everything. Always a warrior, Maga," he added.
The 6-foot guard posted 8.1 points, 2.8 rebounds, and 1.1 assists for the Red Warriors in Season 87, and he will now be looking to carry that over when he dons UP’s Maroon and Green.
Maga will be eligible starting Season 89, and he still has two eligibility years left.

This development also comes after Francis Lopez opted to turn professional, as he is set to play for the Fighting Eagles Nagoya in the Japan B.League.
