MANILA — Mason Amos, who is now with De La Salle University, once again received boos from his former school, Ateneo de Manila University, during their rivalry game in the UAAP Season 88 on Sunday at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.
Amos was infamous for jumping ship in July last year, and has served a one-year residency since then.
Expectedly, the Blue and White did not take this lightly as they made their emotions felt by booing their former standout. He was also jeered in the Ateneo gallery last Season 87.
But for the 6-foot-7 big man, "there's really nothing to comment about it," as he shifts his focus to playing and being mentally tough.
"There's really nothing to comment about it," asserted Amos. "That's how they feel. That's gonna be how they feel for the rest of the season. I'm just gonna keep moving forward."
He had a silent six-point output and shot 2-of-7 from the field—and for him, this wasn't because of the boos, but he really had just a "bad game."
"I'm good. I mean, I had a bad game, but we all have bad games and I'm just gonna keep moving forward. I mean, just trying to be mentally tough, you know, just being there for my teammates because my team needs me also," he insisted.

Amos said they cannot play as bad as they played in the first half. The Green Archers tried to come back in the match, unleashing a 22-0 run in the fourth period, but it ultimately fell short.
"I'm just gonna be straight, straight honest. We really played really bad and it's a bit obvious, you know, you guys saw what happened in the first half. Time wasn't on our side even though we made a big run, but we can't keep relying on that stuff to happen."

As La Salle falls to 2-2 record, Amos said they will prepare to bounce back against their next task, the National University Bulldogs.
"We're just gonna prepare for them. They play a different style to a lot of other teams, but we have to prepare this next coming week and practice," said Amos.
"I'm just gonna keep working hard because every team in this league can create an upset. We've seen that everybody can lose and, you know, just preparing as much as we can."
