MANILA — Mason Amos has ended his stint with Ateneo de Manila University.
The 6-foot-7 Filipino-Australian bid the Blue Eagles goodbye in a social media post on Monday and expressed his gratitude to his teammates, coaches, and fellow Ateneans.

“As I sit here and write this I think about my life and I am forever thankful for what Ateneo has done for me,” Amos, who averaged 8.87 points and 3.4 rebounds for Ateneo in UAAP Season 86 penned.
“To my teammates - with a heavy heart I would like to express that you guys have been a huge part of my life. I am thankful for everything that we were able to share. I have no regrets having fought by your side. I am thankful that you guys taught me lessons and that we were able to create memories I will cherish forever. I love you guys and that’ll never change. “
“To the coaches and everyone involved - I am Thankful for everything you have taught me. I am thankful for the opportunity, the teachings, the adversity, and the knowledge you have instilled in me. I am so blessed to be able to be coached by you guys. I love you all and I am thankful for everything.”
“To the Ateneo community, I am grateful for the opportunities you have given me. I am grateful for the memories I have been able to create and cherish. I am grateful to all the great people I have met during my time. I am grateful for all the challenges you have presented me. I am grateful that I was able to be a part of something bigger than myself. I'm forever thankful for the love you have given me constantly day in and day out. I am forever grateful for my classmates, all my professors, and everyone who helped me with my schooling experience. I love Ateneo and that will forever be there.”
“I will forever be proud to have represented the school and thankful. I love you Ateneo. It may be a goodbye, but you will always have a place in my heart,” he added.
Amos, who is currently with Gilas Pilipinas for their upcoming 2024 FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournament campaign which starts on July 3, previously said that his present stint with the National team will be of huge help in his collegiate career.
“I mean, I’m just gaining experience from all the players I’m playing with. That’s what is important for me — gaining experience and learning from the best,” he said following their win over the Taiwan Mustangs last week.
“The overall experience is great. I get to learn from the best, and that’s something that I’ll take away,” he answered.”
However, he will now be applying this not with the Blue Eagles, but with the reigning men’s basketball champions of the UAAP, as it was reported by Tiebreaker Times that he will be transferring to their lifelong rivals De La Salle University.
