MANILA — The Sandiganbayan Third Division denied former House Speaker Martin Romualdez’s motion for reconsideration for a hospital transfer.
Romualdez filed on Sept. 14 a motion wherein he asked the court the following:
- that the order directing Romualdez’s transfer from UP-PGH to the Quezon City Jail be held in abeyance or be put on hold; and
- that Romualdez be transferred to a government hospital within Quezon City.
Associate Justice Karl Miranda cited UP-PGH Medical Director Dr. Gerardo Legaspi’s testimony that Romualdez is clinically stable and does not require confinement.
He also said there is no imperative necessity to transfer Romualdez to a tertiary hospital.
