MANILA — Filipinos will be able to catch a glimpse of a rare planetary alignment featuring Mercury, Saturn, Neptune, Venus, Uranus, Jupiter, and Mars from February 21 to 28.
According to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA), Venus, Jupiter, and Mars will be visible to the naked eye even before the alignment occurs.

Saturn and Mercury will be more difficult to spot due to their positions. On the other hand, Neptune and Uranus will require high-powered equipment for a clear view.
The same phenomenon last happened in July 2022 and will occur again in August 2025, but with only six planets— Mercury, Venus, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune.

If you are looking for a place to watch the said cosmic event, the University of the Philippines - National Institute for Science and Mathematics Education Development (UP NISMED) Observatory is opening its doors to the public for the ‘Parade of the Planets’ on February 28, from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m.
Meanwhile, the PAGASA Observatory is also open daily from 6 p.m. for small groups, with an admission fee of P25 per person.
