MANILA — Queenay is no longer content with building a career solely in front of the camera. The actress and content creator is venturing into business with her own fragrance brand while also exploring her interest in theater.
Queenay recently took on a new role as entrepreneur as she ventured into the fragrance industry with the launch of Valaire, her perfume business.
From being a content creator, actress and host, Quennay has consistently expressed her desire to build businesses that can provide a strong foundation beyond showbiz.

In a 2024 interview, she shared her goal of establishing more businesses as a practical investment and a possible fallback alongside her entertainment career.
“Dapat po meron talaga fallback from showbiz kaya now pa lang, nagri-ready na po ako talaga kung ano ang pwede ko na gawing business na mga magtatagal,” said Queenay, who also owns a coffee shop, Kafenaman, in her hometown in Batangas.
Apart from businesses, Queenay, who also wanted to join the theater community, has co-produced the first-ever Stage Bites Short Play Community Theater Festival with Dularkada Playhouse in Batangas, alongside her brother Direk RK Mercado.
Her brother, who is also the festival director, has always been Queenay’s acting coach.
“Binubuo po ito ng six short plays na may iba’t ibang kwento. Lahat po sinulat, idinirek at ginampanan ng mga kapwa ko Batanguño,” she said of the festivcal.
The festival runs from September 26-27 and October 3-4 iat Amalfi718 Hotel Batangas. Performances start at 3 p.m..
