Theater company 9 Works Theatrical unveiled Thursday the cast of its staging of "On Your Feet! The Story of Emilio & Gloria Estefan."
Scheduled to run from July 10 to August 2 at the Proscenium Theater at Rockwell, "On Your Feet!" is a Broadway musical based on the lives of musician couple Gloria and Emilio Estefan.
Filipino-British singer-actress Molly Langley and Filipino-Canadian singer Kayla Rivera will alternate in the role of Latin pop icon Gloria Estefan.
They will be joined by Ayen Laurel as Gloria's mother, Gloria Fajardo; Pinky Marquez as her grandmother, Consuelo Garcia; John Joven Uy as her father, Jose Fajardo; Vien King as Young Jose Fajardo; Jani Magadia as her sister, Rebecca Fajardo; and Anyah de Guzman as Rebecca Fajardo in certain performances, and as Robin.
For the roles of Little Gloria and Young Emilio, child theater standouts Reese Iso and Althea Ruedas will alternate as Little Gloria, while Elian Santos and Manolo Villalva will share the role of Young Emilio.
The cast also includes Lorenz Martinez, Meliza Reyes Uy, Neo Rivera, Antonio Valdez, Altair Alonzo, Roxy Aldiosa, Rica LaGuardia, Matthew Barbers, Carmelle Ros, Winchester Lopez, Cheska Quimno, Richardson Yadao, Macel Dofitas-Yadao, Gerhard Krysstopher, Lord Kristoffer Logmao, Jacqui Jacinto, Gianna Hervas, and Roni Paderes.
The production is directed by Robbie Guevara, with musical direction by Daniel Bartolome and choreography by Nunoy van den Burgh.
