Catriona Gray, considered by many as a major source of Filipino pride for her achievements and advocacies, is open to the idea of working as a tourism consultant for the country.
The former Miss Universe made the statement in her newly released interview in the vlog of "TV Patrol" anchor Karen Davila, who asked her if she would consider running for public office given her massive platform and influence.
"No," she immediately replied, laughing.
But when asked if she would like to join government in any way, Gray replied: "I would love to have the opportunity siguro as a consultant in tourism, or something like that."
"Siguro in that kind of aspect, but in office? No. I don't really have a calling [for that]," she stressed.
Since winning the Philippines' fourth Miss Universe crown in 2018, Gray has been working with the government in promoting the country's arts and culture scene.
A creative herself, she is now on her 7th year as an ambassador for the National Commission for Culture and the Arts.
The Department of Trade and Industry also earlier tapped her to be an ambassador of its One Town, One Product (OTOP) project, going to different parts of the country to showcase local weaves and delicacies.
On top of these and working with organizations to support various causes, Gray has also been vocal about social and political issues, and went viral for delivering a speech in last year's anti-corruption protests.
"Bilang isang Filipino myself, doing the work that I do in the communities, I guess I'm made aware of certain things I wish could be better for our nation," she said when asked about her participation in last year's rallies.
"Just because I'm privileged doesn't mean I should have a blind eye to everyone else," she added.
