Seven years have passed since content creator Mimiyuuuh's meteoric rise, which has inspired internet users, particularly young gays at home.
Like other celebrities, Mimiyuuuh's fame has allowed the public access to her personal life, yet she has managed to keep her romantic life private.
In an interview with Benedict Cua for "Potluck Saturdays" on YouTube, Mimiyuuuh discussed the possibility of having a special someone, given that everything in her life seemed to be going well right now.
“Iba rin siguro ‘yung attention, affection kung mayroon kang someone else. Pero ako kasi talaga I enjoy my time alone,” Mimiyuuuh told Cua.
“‘Pag mag-isa ako, okay ako. Kung may someone else, okay din ako. Bonus na lang ‘yung partner. Grateful ako kung mayroon man,” she continued.
Reiterating that being alone does not imply loneliness, she added, “Masaya rin na may kasama ka. Pero there’s nothing wrong din kung wala, enjoying your time.”
When asked what qualities she looks for in a partner, she responded, “Mas gusto ko ‘yung parang tatay ko — ipagluluto ako. Gusto ko pala ‘yung acts of service.”
From love life to career, the content creator talked about her humble beginnings, crediting family support for her success.
“Feel ko talaga I was meant for something more. Mataas talaga ang pangarap ko for myself. Nung medyo shaky na ang life namin sa family, financially, napi-feel ko talaga na ayaw ko nang ganito forever. Mabuti na lang supportive ang family ko. Sobrang laking impact talaga ng family support. I feel like na ang lakas ng loob ng isang tao ay nabi-build inside the home,” she shared.
Recalling her journey, she continued, “Fashion girl talaga ako ever since. Wala lang kasi akong pera [nung time na ‘yun]. Now na may capability na ako na ma-access ‘yung mga ganoong bagay, ‘yun ‘yong nagpapa-push sa akin to heal my inner child. Life is about enjoying.”
The social media sensation also confessed that if she becomes a landowner and profits from it, she plans to stop vlogging. “Kasi pangarap ko talagang maging landlady. Kapag malaki na ‘yung kinikita ko sa pagiging landlady, maybe I can quit social media. Gusto ko ‘yung nagpaparenta. Dati kasi parati kaming pinapalayas sa Baclaran.“
During her heartfelt talk with Cua, Mimiyuuuh also mentioned how her success can serve as a reminder to young gays that anything is possible, citing her position as one of the few gays able to endorse products and work with brands.
“Kailangan ko pang maka-inspire ng maraming batang bading na gawin lang kung ano talaga ‘yung gusto nilang gawin na hindi sila mahihiya. ‘Yan ka, eh. Bakit mo naman ikahihiya kung sino ka. Before, napansin ko na wala talagang bading na nagiging endorser [unless they were big enough]. Nung nag-start ako mag-content, kinukuha ako ng brands. Puwede pala na ang mga bading ay kuning endorsers na, ‘Hindi siya conventionally perfect na magandang bading pero kinukuha siya.’ If you are confident with who you are, you can achieve anything you want. Kung kaya ko, mas kaya n’yo,” she expressed.
Her life advice? “It’s just a job. It doesn’t really define who you are. Mayroon ka pa ring buhay na hindi sa harap ng kamera. I love working pero there’s also beauty in taking your time. Kapag nasa Skyway ka, kahit sobrang bilis mo, may time pa rin na kailangan mong huminto. Madidisgrasya ka kapag sobrang bilis mo. Ganoon ang life.”
And her message to her bashers? “Feeling ko malungkot talaga sila kaya hindi ko rin sila masisi. Kapag pinansin mo sila, ibig sabihin, nag-succeed sila. ‘Yun ang mapi-feel nila. So huwag na lang mag-spend ng energy sa people na ganoon,” she ended.
