Businessman Sam Verzosa said he is keeping his focus on health, discipline, and advocacy amid issues involving his former partner, actress Rhian Ramos.
Accusations of serious illegal detention and torture have been filed before the NBI against Ramos, beauty queen Michelle Dee, and another beauty queen, following a complaint from Ramos’ personal driver.
Speaking at the launch of the Zeus Fight League, Verzosa shared that his priorities remain centered on empowering Filipino athletes and elevating local combat sports to the international stage.
“Hindi lang ito para sa laban nila, pero para sa laban ng mga pangarap nila,” Verzosa said, adding that the league aims to protect and provide global exposure for Filipino fighters as part of what he described as a new era in Philippine combat sports.
Verzosa also revealed that he is actively training for an upcoming HYROX competition in Bangkok this March, in partnership with actor Marco Gumabao, describing their routine as non-stop and highly disciplined.
Amid the circulating issues, Verzosa emphasized his decision to stay grounded and focused.
“Focus ako sa sarili ko, focus ako sa advocacy ko. Non-stop improvement,” he said. “Kahit maraming narinig na issues, we’re focused. You don’t have to hear all the noise; just stay true to your lane.”
When asked to comment directly on the allegations, Verzosa reiterated that his energy is now directed toward personal growth, wellness, and continuing his advocacy, particularly in supporting Filipino fighters and charitable causes.
“All I can say is I’m just focused here. I don’t want to comment about anything, especially since marami nang nangyari. But now, sabi ko nga, I’m just focusing on my lane, myself, and continuing my advocacy, whether in charities or helping athletes, especially fighters in the Philippines,” he said.
