Nustar Resort in Cebu. Nustar/FacebookHotels in Cebu assured the public that they are committed to ensuring the safety of their guests and staff following the magnitude 6.9 earthquake that struck the province on Tuesday, September 30.
In a statement, Waterfront Hotels and Casinos said both of its properties -- Waterfront Cebu City Hotel and Casino and Waterfront Airport Hotel and Casino -- have undergone structural assessments, and are "secure and fully operational."
"All guests and team members are safe, with no injuries reported," it added.
Nustar Resort similarly conducted an initial sweep of the development "with no accounted injuries and casualties."
"We remain committed to providing a safe environment for the community and shall continue with enhanced standards of security until full operations resume," the luxury property added.
Bai Hotel said it continues to inspect the property after the quake "to ensure the continued safety and comfort of everyone," and is also monitoring the situation in coordination with local authorities.
"We are relieved to inform that there were no major damages to the property, and no guest or team member was harmed," it said.
Movenpick Hotel Mactan Island Cebu and Marco Polo Hotel Cebu also released similar statements, saying they continue to provide a caring and secure environment to their guests and staff.
"We want to sincerely thank our dedicated team for their swift, compassionate, and professional response during this challenging time," Movenpick said.
Marco Polo Hotel Cebu, for its part, said: "Our hotel continues to operate with heightened care, and our team is here to ensure comfort and reassurance for everyone staying with us."
The massive earthquake was recorded 21 kilometers northeast of the city of Bogo at 9:59 p.m., according to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology.
As of Wednesday morning, the death toll due to the quake is at 53.
