MANILA — Former Ilocos Sur Governor Luis “Chavit” Singson recently launched his memoir, "Chavit: Legend of the Philippines," at a gala dinner held at The Peninsula Manila, attended by diplomats, government officials, and close associates.

The book, written by Polish author Maciej Mikurda, chronicles Singson’s life and career over more than seven decades. The event drew over 150 guests, including government officials and business leaders.

Publisher Riza Hansen announced plans to translate the book into 15 languages and promote it in 20 countries, with an Arabic edition already underway.

Singson’s daughter, Rep. Richelle Singson of the Ako Ilokano Ako party list, offered a toast, while longtime friend and chemist Pinky Tobiano introduced the former governor during the program.

In his remarks, Singson emphasized the value of experience, generosity, and compassion, expressing hope that younger generations would learn from his story and the lessons he shared, particularly his involvement in Philippine politics.

Following the program, Singson signed copies of the book for guests.
